The doctors in our practice work as a medical team, so you are free to see any doctor of your choice. We would, however, advise you to see the same doctor for each medical problem whenever possible. This ensures consistency of approach.

Should your regular doctor be unavailable, one of the other doctors will be glad to advise you. Each doctor holds regular surgeries at different times of the week. The receptionists will find a suitable time for you. If your problem is genuinely urgent tell her so that you may be seen quickly.

Opening Hours

AppointmentsOur normal opening hours are as follows:

Monday to Friday: 8.00am - 6.30pm

Morning Surgeries: 8.30am - 11.30am

Evening Surgeries: 3.30pm - 6.10pm

Extended Hours Surgeries: 6.30pm - 8.00pm  (Tue & Wed only - usually 3 doctors each evening, by appointment only)
We regret that we are unable to offer extended hours appointments at Withymoor Surgery

Telephone booking

For an appointment at either of our surgeries please phone: 01384 79500, between the hours of 8am to 12 noon.

You will be asked why you need to see a doctor, so that we can judge whether it is urgent and needs to be seen today, or can you be seen later in the week. We may suggest you could see a nurse or other professional quicker. We are not looking to take a medical history over the telephone, just obtain sufficient detail to enable us to book you with the correct clinician at the earliest opportunity.

Online booking

We offer an on-line booking service for routine appointments via the ‘EMIS-access’ online service

If you would like to make use of this service you will need to obtain a PIN number and user-ID from the surgery. To obtain these please enquire at the reception desk of either surgery IN PERSON with PROOF OF I.D. (this will be required even if you are well known to the receptionist).

Once you have an I.D. and PIN, you may register at the log-on site at:

Appointment System

Nurses Clinics
The nurse’s clinics do not operate the same system and you may, if you wish, make a pre-booked appointment to see them.

We prefer children under 16 years of age to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Extended Hours Surgeries
We provide a routine surgery at our Albion House premises from 6.30 pm - 8.00 pm on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Unfortunately we are prevented by planning regulations from holding these surgeries at our Withymoor premises.

These ‘extended hours’ surgeries are STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and are intended for those patients who work during normal surgery hours. We request that you avoid booking these appointments if you are able to attend during normal opening hours. NB. It is not possible for us to provide any other routine services at these times.

Due to concerns about staff safety during these late surgeries there is also a much higher level of security and patients will not be granted access into the building without an appointment.

EMERGENCY medical care during these ‘extended hours’ remains the responsibility of NHS Dudley CCG and will continue to be provided by Malling Health as at present. Patients who require urgent/emergency care during these ‘extended’ hours should NOT attend the surgery but should instead contact the out-of-hours service via the main practice phone number as usual.

Keeping or cancelling appointments

We ask patients to inform reception if they no longer need a booked appointment. There is always a patient who can take that appointment even if it’s at short notice.
